A nice short story...

I've read many of Diana Palmer's book and well this one was not very different. Since its more like a short story, it doesn't get that well developed.

Story is about a mom (Maggie) who moves out to Montana with her son. The nearest neighbor (Tate) is almost untouchable after he lost his family. However, Maggie is able to win his heart and build her own family with Tate.

Since the story is very short, the character's personalities don't have a chance to develop. However, you can see from the short amount of time that Maggie is very devoted towards her son and Tate is very passionate and somewhat innocent.

A cute story. If you like Diana Palmer, this one should be a quick, good read.

i have read literally all of her books and thoroughly enjoy them. she always writes about the same theme, young virgin, older man, hates them, but eventually they realize they love them so all is right. her love scenes are so tender that you can help but fall in love. i cannot wait for her next book.

The question Amazon asked when they wanted me to rate this book was, "Did this item meet your expectations?"....the answer is, ABSOLUTELY "YES" ! ! ! ! ! I began reading books by this author several years ago and have many of them in my personal collection...one day I hope to own them all....I am never disappointed in the story lines nor content of her books....and the fact that so many of them have the same characters in them just makes it better for me....it is just like reading a family history and I do so love to do that !!!!

A book I couldn't put down!

Once, again, Melissa Schroeder has written a book that I lost sleep over. One of the things I loved about this one is that BOTH of the lead characters, male and female, are Marines. I haven't read many stories where the author gives us the military side of things from a woman's POV. In this case, she is the one with PTSD.

Dante Santini comes from a family of Marines and when he first meets Madison Baker his competitive side tells him to dislike this Marine that gives him a run for his money in most competitions. Dante and Madison, from outward appearances, are bitter enemies. It isn't until years later that Dante runs into Madison, again, and realizes his attraction to her. When her life is endangered because of something she sees, Dante's protective instincts kick in and his true feelings become more evident, to him anyway. He wants to protect her but knows that the Marine in her won't willingly ask for help.

Can Dante protect Madison? Can he convince her to let him protect her? Most importantly, can he convince her that she is not broken and is worthy of love?

I really loved this book, I feel in love with the Santini's from the very beginning of the first book..... I was so glad, to hear that Dante Santini got his own book.... You will fall in love with Him and Madison they are the perfect couple.. Sparks fly and there is action, this is a very good great you must get it...... I love all the books written by Ms. Schroeder, you will too, she is a great writer she hooks you with her books... I feel like the Santini's and the Johnson's are part of my family you will too..... There is just something special about how she writes her books. You will fall in love from the very first book and page....

I loved it and was surprised by the ending.Madison is Dante's twin sister Elena's best friend from the Academy where she and Dante were always one upping each other. When they meet again Madison is suffering PTSD and feels she is damaged but Dante has always seen something special in her.She witnesses a murder and runs to Dante however the police can find nothing & think due to her PTSD she made it up.What follows is a Santini falling for the Santini curse and a surprise murderer I never saw coming.I was hooked from the beginning and shocked at the end.You can never go wrong with a Santini book

I am studying this with Year 8 students, and it is perhaps slightly insubstantial for sustained discussion, but it is very popular with students and the story really clips along. A terrific dose of Australian storytelling.

Horrendous double murders versus a Judge's addiction

This book gives details of the horrible torture and killing of a young couple in Knoxville Tn. I am from there,so I have followed this case from the beginning. The author did a lot of research, put the facts and his opinion out for the reader. It also gave information about the judge who handled the trials of the 4 evil defendants. His subsequent trial and conviction for being under the influence of drugs caused those murderers to qualify for retrial. Other cases handled by this judge also came into question...how many remains to be seen.

Horrible sadness...

This was such a hard book to read. How can we imagine what these poor people went thru? So much brutality...my heart grieves for this young woman. My sincere sympathies for their families.
Our world keeps getting worse not better. Drugs are harmful and they do destroy lives. But I feel each person must have it within themselves to take control of their life . A poor childhood, in my opinion, does not negate a person's ability to try and make life better. It's a copout and a excuse. I know from my own childhood as many people do.
The judge's behavior? Simply deplorable. He should have been taken to task sooner. Their job and rulings effect everyone. What a terrible thing if these monsters had been given freedom because of this person's behaviour.
The author did a credible job with this evidence he presented. However, much of it was too technical for me. Still, it takes a special person to endure and write about this horrible crime.
