The book is exactly what I needed, and I received it in two days. This book is what you need for an introductory communication disorders class. It's also informative on what career options there will be for you if you choose this field, making the textbook more applicable to you than most.

good introductory book for SLP students

I got this for my first class in speech,lang, hearing studies. Coming from a different field, it does well to tie is all the disorders and gives a good overview. It was well written. It can get a bit too detailed but I think that makes it useful for later reference.

Good Intro book

This books is excellent for the beginner/intro student. It explains the disorders, causes and conditions very well. I didn't use the CD, but once I have time this semester to do so, I will take a look at the CD/DVD and venture with it.
